ATC & DOT Effort To Revoke Land Rights Defeated
Buckwheat Valley Citizens Coalition (BVCC) has been informed by Land Rights Wisconsin that efforts by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) and the American Transmission Company (ATC) to introduce legislation to revoke critical land owner rights have been defeated. The attempt to ram-rod these land owners rights revocations into law were made by inserting law changes into the Wisconsin Budget of 2011. This time the gate was closed, and the attempt has failed. BVCC has apposed this effort since we first learned of it from the Wisconsin Joint Finance Committee's (JFC) late night session in May of 2011. This should give consumers a window-view regarding special interest hard-ball activities, in real time. Keep vigilant citizens, and keep your lights on.
