The Buckwheat Vally Citizens Coalition joined forces with the Wetlands Reserve Program Coalition of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Wetlands Association to work on issues regarding Wisconsin Land Use Classification definitions enforced by the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. The WRP programs provide Wisconsin with wetland preservation tools that should be supported by Wisconsin tax codes to encourage the WRP programs expansion. BVCC's goal is to assist WRP enrolled members by providing more appropriate tax land use classifications for WRP land. This legislation is long overdue and has been an ongoing effort by BVCC, and its partners, for over two years. BVCC is working to make these needed changes become reality in the year 2011.
