The Buckwheat Valley Citizens Coalition (BVCC) has recently challenged the American Transmission Company (ATC) to provide documented studies to back up ATC claims made during its promotion of a new electric high voltage transmission line proposal, known as the Wisconsin "Badger Coulee" (BC) line. ATC claims BC will provide "Improved reliability, economic benefits, and support renewable policy". The BC proposal will cost upward of $425 Million dollars to construct, paid for by Wisconsin electric utility rate payers. BVCC wants to see the data and know the facts. BVCC has asked ATC to provide a detailed, written public response to the following five basic questions:
Five Question Challenge.
(1) Are there any critical, existing, unmet, and verifiable electric energy demand sectors within the BC study area?
(2) Are there any critical, existing, constrained, and verifiable electric energy transmission congestion points within the BC Study area?
(2) Are there any critical, existing, constrained, and verifiable electric energy transmission congestion points within the BC Study area?
(3) Are any electric energy consumption conservation plans included or evaluated within the BC study area?
(4) What statistical data demonstrates exactly how much verifiable, green, wind energy will be delivered within the BC study area?
(5) Why should electric utility ratepayers pay for, yet have no ownership in, the proposed high voltage electric transmission infrastructure within the BC study area?
