BVCC IS ON WISCONSIN PUBLIC RADIO TALK SHOW 6-7-2011.

The Buckwheat Valley Citizens Coalition (BVCC)  will be on the Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) "Joy Cardin Talk Show" on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. The show starts at 6:00 AM. Guests will include Sara Justus from the American Transmission Company, Al Brinkman from the Buckwheat Valley Citizens Coalition, and Rob Danielson from the Town of Stark, Wisconsin. The discussion will cover the new ATC proposal to construct a new high voltage, high capacity electrical transmission line corridor from La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Madison, Wisconsin. The projects construction costs alone are estimated to be $425 Million dollars, paid for by electric consumer rate payers, over a 20-30 year finance period. This proposed corridor would be 150 miles long, carry 345,000 volts over 170 foot high towers, at a cost of $2.8 Million dollars per mile. This will be a great opportunity for citizens to challenge ATC to provide written answers regarding the projects need, alternative approaches, and cost issues. BVCC invites everyone to call in and be part of the conversation during the phone call question session (Call WPR 1-800-642-1234).
